In the course of the last 25 years members of our team were able to be a part of the major events in the Russian electric energy markets working as an advisor and making deals. In 90-ies we have been part of the restructuring of the electricity exports to Finland, involved in deals related to leading suppliers of equipment to Gazprom and RAO Unified Energy Systems of Russia. As the sector has developed we also played an active role in strategy and approach to restructuring of the Russian energy systems leading the “isolated” systems project and restructuring the energy systems of the Russian Far East. We also played an important role in strategy related to development of the Russian electric energy exports to Europe and East by acting as a leading advisor in the assessing of the potential and challenges of this undertaking. Later we also assisted InterRAO, one of the leading energy companies in strategy work and carried out benchmarking with the selected players, provided advice related to the further strategic development and modernization. We also assisted Fortum in accumulating stakes in Lenenergo, Karelenergo and Kolenergo and, later, TGC 1. As a part of the Evli Bank team we successfully assisted Fortum Russia in exiting Kurganenergo, Tyumenenergoremont and disposing its stake in Petroenergosbyt, a leading energy sales company in Russia. In 2014 we have successfully assisted ÅF of Sweden in exiting from their investment in the St Petersburg based engineerin firm Lonas Technologies. Recently we acted as advisers to top management of KES (Complex Energy Systems), later T+ in strategy work related to restructuring of their Volga region activities.
